Our annual escape 2017 ....

After a very peaceful crossing with the ferry from Hoek van Holland to Harwich we spent
the night at the trendy The Alma Inn
a perfect stop before we would continue our journey to the Peak District the next day.

Before going to our cottage we had a short stop in the beautiful (university) city Cambridge ....

After a beautiful ride in a part of England where we had not been before,
we arrived at our 'home from home' for our first
week, The Wee House on the Hill at the beautiful town Wirksworth ....

With the most gorgeous view ....

And felt like home the minute we walked in ....

The centre of the lovely town was just down this road ....

With beautiful doors along the way ....

And gorgeous cottages ....

Quirky details on the main road ....

And so much independent stores ....

A lovely Farmers Market ....

Where I just had to take this Aquilegia home with me ....

But this was definitely our most favourite, May's Celebration Cakes and I have
to admit that we visited this cosy tearoom almost daily ....

To have something at the spot itself ....

Or to take something delicious 'home' ....

Not far from our cottage there was this beautiful carpet of Bluebells at Shining Cliff Woods ....

After seen so many beautiful photos from the impressive nature in this area, we couldn't wait to experience it for ourselves.
So this circular walk around Mam Tor was high on our list ....

It really felt like just the two of us on top of the world ....

In very good company of these ones ....

This was as near as I dared to go, not thinking about the steep way down we still had to go ....

But once down again, the reward was so worth it ....

Another thing on my wish list, was a visit to the estate Chatsworth which
happens to be such an inspiration.
We've seen so much that I feel another post is required to share all my pictures.
One thing is for sure, I want an entrance just like this in my front garden ....

After spending a lovely week at the beautiful cottage, it was so hard to leave. Especially to leave our morning 'wake up call' behind .....

Driving from one cottage to another in this landscape was no punishment at all ....

Even more when you have such a welcoming stop at Hogben Pottery to pick up new stock ....

A little selection from some of the things I brought home with me and now available at the webshop .....

And a second stop at The Country Brocante Store in Midhurst where we met the lovely Jill from Rosiebud Decorative Living ....

And obvious couldn't leave empty handed and took this lovely vintage book
from Goose Home and Garden with me ....

And again such a warm welcome at the cottage that would be our home for our second week ....

With this as our view

And we (luckily) witnessed that Mr.Fox was not at the least interested in the lambs ....

And more 'dinnertime' in front of us every night ....

The lovely village Steyning was just on our doorstep ....

And yes a visit to another tearoom, just had to be done.
If only for its gorgeous vintage interior ....

Because being in England without visiting a fair isn't the case, we've also been to
the Decorative Living Fair at the beautiful grounds of  Eridge park ....

Afterwards we ended up in the charming market town Dorking where we met this one near the church ....

I think you'll understand by now why I'm on a little diet right now, but we didn't had
any scones yet, if that's an excuse. And yet another lovely setting at Gorgeous Gerties ....

And we bought these Solar Bulbs as a keepsake at the local Sainsbury's ....

Being so very near it was the perfect opportunity for an afternoon walk, Pethworth Park ....

And also a place I just can't stay away while being in West SussexBlack Down ....

And look who we met there ....

These Aberdeen Angus grazing around Black Down ....

And of course sitting on my favourite bench ....

With this view ...

And the entrance towards another stunning view ....

The wonderful Temple of the Winds ....

On our last day in Sussex, we visited the quirky town Lewes and we bumped
into the ever so friendly Judith and her husband from Heartfelt Designs right here
on the High Street, such a lovely coincidence ....

I actually shouldn't be sharing all these pics with you, but yes
also at Bill's they know how to serve a cake ....

This years trip in one picture - so very green and pleasant ....

Home again I've been very busy adding new products and giving the website a bit of a revamp.

I do hope I haven't bored you with the overload of pictures and that you visit me next time on here, when I share the ones of Chatsworth.
